Jack has returned home to America, and nearly a year has gone by since his adventures in Saint Galdramour. He misses his friends tremendously, so when Finn invites him to go camping with his family, Jack leaps at the opportunity. Jack and Belle are introduced to Finn’s older brother, who is about to be initiated into their father’s secret Order. Finn worries the Order may not be as noble as it claims, haunted by his father’s mysterious words. But his brother is undeterred; he must collect one rare and impossible item to secure his place.
All seems well until the fabled Beast of Gévaudan reappears—a supernatural creature, part man, part wolf, terrorizing the countryside. Capturing this beast might just be the impossible task they need. Determined to help, Jack, Belle, and Finn set out on a perilous quest.
As Jack and Finn's friendship deepens, new feelings begin to surface. Their bonds of friendship are tested, hidden truths are revealed, and Jack faces his greatest challenge yet.
